U.S. Citizenship – Overview

Citizenship is the most important immigration benefit the USCIS can grant.  Most people become U.S. citizens in one of the following ways:

• Citizenship by birth in the U.S. or certain territories
• Citizenship by birth abroad to U.S. citizen parent(s)
• Naturalization
• Citizenship through the Child Citizenship Act
